Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a mental illness. It develops during adolescence or early adulthood. It’s marked by a pattern of emotional instability, impulsive behaviour, distorted self-image, and unstable relationships.
Those suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder struggle with their identity and self-worth, have difficulty controlling their emotions and behaviour and have long standing problems with relationships. Sufferers are often misunderstood, pushing loved ones away as they struggle with feelings of abandonment, loneliness, desperation, helplessness and fear.
