I have over twenty years’ experience in counselling with adults, adolescents and families. I am experienced in helping with issues like depression, anxiety, grief and loss, child / adolescent and parental conflict, communication difficulties in relationships and adolescent behaviour challenges. My experience includes several years working with young people in a school setting.
Having worked for large NGOs, including The Salvation Army, and in private practice, I am privileged each time I have the experience of sharing part of another person’s life journey and seeing them gain insight, confidence, build resilience and find ways of dealing with what had been distressing them. Main modalities I draw on in my counselling practice include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
Heather also currently works as a tutor of counselling students for a large Registered Training Organisation.
