My way of working with people is a gentle and supportive approach that is informed by theories of attachment, trauma, self psychology and intersubjectivity. I work with you to create new experiences that allow a liberation from ways of being that are not working for you. You can read more about Somatic Psychotherapy here. I also work directly with trauma and on improving performance using a therapy called Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM).
I am an Associate Member of the Australian Somatic Psychotherapy Association (ASPA) and therefore abide by their code of ethics. I am also a member of the International Association of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology (IAPSP) to ensure I am kept up to date on the latest ideas and progress in my field.
My studies include a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Training and Development, Certificate of Embodied Relational Dynamics and Diploma of Contemporary Somatic Psychotherapy, Brainspotting Level 1 & 2 and Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) 1 & 2. I also regularly attend professional development sessions and have weekly clinical supervision to hone my skills.
In addition to seeing one-on-one clients, I work with Denise Ball at bamkins, where we run courses for parents on emotionally intelligent parenting and for children on social and emotional learning.
