I provide individual counselling and therapy for adults (18yr+). My style of counselling and therapy is to work collaboratively with clients to create a safe space to explore and address their issues. I listen in a non-judgemental way, with empathy, understanding, and confidentiality. Only when a client feels comfortable with a therapisit can they experience the safety needed to explore their problems.
My approach uses the therapeutic relationship as the focus for treatment and is based on Interpersonal Process Therapy. I integrate this effective approach which includes: Interpersonal-Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioural, Family Systems, and Attachment Theories, with Emotionally Focused Therapy.
I tailor my approach with clients because each person's life experiences and their responses to a problem are unique. So I also draw from a range of other therapies to suit the individual such as TA, Body Awareness, Narrative Therapy, and the use of Written /Art Expression.
Previously I had a career as a creative director and now I bring this sense of creativity and flexibility to my style of counselling & therapy. I have a flexible approach to how many sessions a client determines they need.
